I have worked with a fair share of these folks over the last 6 years. And I can tell you that they are obsessed with being on Page one of Google. And who can blame them?
If you’re new to an area and your faucet starts leaking? What do you do? My guess is, you probably pull out your smartphone and Google “city name + plumber.” And if your company’s website is NOT on page one, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get the call.
