How is your Facebook page performing? Are you getting enough likes, comments and shares on your posts? If not, it may be time to re-examine your posting strategy. If you’re not being consistent and sharing high quality content regularly, that’s one BIG problem right there!
I know it’s tough to connect with your Facebook fans without paying for ads. The organic reach of a typical Facebook page is about 1 percent or less these days. But it’s not impossible to get engagement without spending money. One of my clients has a Facebook page who gets organic reach of nearly 50 percent on some posts.
That’s because she has a passionate, but small fan base – only 263 likes. And it’s clear proof the actual number of fans doesn’t matter as long as the fans represent your ideal audience.
If you’re just launching a page, you do need to grow your audience. Social media management company PostPlanner has come up with an infographic featuring 30 helpful tips to cultivate a loyal following. With the end of the year fast approaching, why not take the next 30 days and implement one step per day so your page will be set up for success in the new year
Some of the tips are ones I have used myself to success and ones I’ve taught my clients to implement. Here are a few of my favorites:
How to Grow Your Facebook Page Following
- Invite Friends – this is an easy way to boost your likes, as long as you’re selective about who you invite. Another tactic I’ve used is to send out a special email to your list inviting them to become fans of your page.
- Use Visual Marketing – Graphics and photos have always been a popular way to boost engagement on Facebook. Create your own or find other popular ones to share.
- Spice up Your Page with Video – The infographic doesn’t mention LIVE video specifically, but since Facebook appears to be weighing live videos more heavily in the news feed, this strategy could boost your visibility to a wider audience.
