TRANSCRIPT – New Beginnings After 50: Design Your Life, Your Way

Welcome to the Podcast Rebrand: A New Chapter for Women Over 50

Welcome to the very first edition of Design Your Life, Your Way. And I am so delighted to be here relaunching the podcast. For the last six years it’s been known as Live Love Engage. And during 2025, especially the second half of the year, I was working with a wonderful brand strategist named Tiffany Newman and to get some clarity because, you know, we all need clarity from time to time in our life, in our business.

How Working with a Brand Strategist Helped Me Find Clarity

And I had attended a workshop she did. It was a three or four day workshop first and then I decided to dive in and join her program because it was all about really creating a legacy brand. And I’m going to include a link to—she’s got another program, another one of these workshops coming up in January and I encourage you to check it out. And in fact, I think I’ve even got a special deal. You can even save money on it. So I’ll have that in the show notes.

But the point of it was that she really—her, the way her program is structured, even just the introductory one really gave me a lot of clarity in, you know, I knew who I wanted to serve, which is women my age, you know, women in midlife, women over 50 or even over 60, as I am now.

Navigating Midlife Transitions: When Life Calls for Change

Because when you hit this age, man, sometimes life is going on that is not pleasing to you, let’s say perhaps, or it is, or maybe just life has changed and you’ve come to a point in time where you want to go back in and maybe revisit some ideas that had put on the shelf, perhaps to raise a family or to launch—maybe you are a professional and now you want to become an entrepreneur.

I was actually looking this morning at some old journals of mine and going back to 2019 and I, man, even back then I was not happy in my marriage and that was what I was reading about.

My Journey Through Separation After 50

And for those of you who have been listeners of this podcast for at least for the last couple of years, you probably know that I am—my husband and I decided to separate. Well, it was my choice. Well, he suggests I wanted a divorce. He suggested separation. And so we’ve been separated for three years now and it’s working out well, at least from my perspective. I’m certainly happier. He has learned to take more responsibility and I know he would still prefer to have me living in the house. I know.

And that’s just not going to happen. Even though he was hinting about it this week saying, you know, we might have some issues coming up if we sell our house, but I’m not moving back in with him. I love him. Don’t get me wrong. He’s a good guy, you know, thankfully, you know, he’s not like an abusive person. It’s just our values don’t align.

What Relationships Teach Us About Ourselves

And I was listening to something this morning, or maybe I was rereading—no, I was listening to something again. I don’t remember what it was now, but there were signs when I was dating him, frankly, that our values didn’t align at the time. And I’ve since learned that he was holding up a mirror to me. And I needed—I needed to be in this relationship because he had lessons to teach me.

Now, this wasn’t really what I planned to talk about today, but anyway, the point is, is that things happen in midlife. There we go. I’m getting back to my point. I’m getting back to my point. Things happen.

Why Every Woman Entrepreneur Needs a Brand Manual

And so I was working with Tiffany this past summer, I guess summer into the fall, and working through what I want my brand to be and who I want to serve and how I want to serve them. And just again, I knew some of this stuff already, but she helped me. The main thing she helped me do was create a brand manual.

Now in all the years that I’ve been in business, and I’ve been in business since—when I first started my business as an SEO copywriter, that was back in 2009, long time ago. Wow. Yeah, it’s going to be 15 years now. Wow. Yeah, it’s going to be 15 years since I started my business in March, I think of this year now. But I never had a brand manual. And so this was a game changer for me putting this together.

From Web to Wealth Marketing to Radiant On Purpose

It helped me again to come up with now a new name for my business. So for the longest time now, for probably a good eight years, maybe 10 years—probably almost 10 years now. My business was called Web to Wealth Marketing because that was my primary business—was marketing. But in this new year now, I’m going to look into the process of doing another DBA because now I want my company name to be called Radiant on Purpose, because that’s what I’m about.

It’s about helping women in midlife to shine their light and to do it with purpose. To design your life your way. And see, that’s my tagline. And then I decided that well, that would be a perfect name for the podcast because Live Love Engage served me very well. It was the name of my book and that’s what I started the podcast back in the end of 2019 as a way to help me write my book. Well, the book got written, so I’m in a new stage of life now.

2026 Numerology: Why This Is the Perfect Year for New Beginnings

And now that I have this brand manual and this clarity, it’s like, okay, it’s time for a change. And it just so happens I love it because I’m also very into learning about different things. So from a numerology perspective, 2026 is a one year, the number one. And it’s about new beginnings.

So as I, when I found that out, it was like, well, this is a perfect time for me to be rebranding this podcast because it is—this is a new year, it’s a fresh start, it’s a new nine year cycle. And I know I had a numerologist on the podcast. I think in 2025, either 2025 or 2024, even though the name has changed, you can still go back and listen to those old episodes.

Where to Listen and Watch Design Your Life, Your Way

So you can go back wherever you’re listening, you know, if you’re listening on Apple or Spotify or if you are watching the podcast on YouTube. And also—and this is something I haven’t really talked about yet, but I want to start talking about—is that my podcast, the video is actually on a platform called New Reality TV and I’ll make sure that I have a link to that in the show notes as well for you to check out. Eventually I’m going to get better putting like a QR code up here, things like that to direct you to it. But I’m just getting going here. Okay, so give me a little grace today.

Finding Your Voice: Creating an Authentic Business Introduction

Anyway, so yeah, so that’s—so basically working on this, working on the brand manual, it absolutely helped me gain clarity about what I wanted to do with my—help me come up with a new introduction for myself. So now when I go to a networking meeting, for instance, I say, I am Gloria Grace Rand, Midlife Empowerment Guide and I empower women over 50 through my signature L.O.V.E. method and energy healing to boldly live life on their terms.

Saying something like that has been something that has—I’ve been struggling with for the last several years. I keep writing new versions and just never feeling really happy about it. But this is becoming so much easier for me now that I have this.

Why Alignment Matters More Than Ever in Midlife

And I think it’s also—this is an important part too—is that it really is, it aligns with me where I am right now. And this is what I’m helping my clients do as well, is to be able to have them be aligned with their life and what they want their life to look like now.

So we’re talking more about that as we go through this year, and we talk about this in the podcast because that is my plan—is to be able to help you to create that life that you want to live now and find ways to start living it, put those steps into action and start doing that.

Learning from Guests and a Love of Books

And I will also have guests on from time to time as well who can help you do that because I love meeting people and I love learning from people. I am—I’ve always been a voracious reader, so I love reading books. I mean, my mom taught me how to read when I was three, and I’m very grateful for that because books kept me company, especially because of the age difference between me and my older brother and sister. Essentially after the age of seven, when my sister went off to college, I was basically raised an only child.

So books kept me company. You know, between books and music, I also played the—we had a Hammond organ in my house and I loved playing the organ. So, yeah, music and books, two companions for me over the years and still are, still are.

How a Brand Manual Can Finally Help You Update Your Website

The other thing I want to say about this process of—oh yes, I know right now I remember the other point I wanted to make about the benefits of having a brand manual if you don’t have one. If you are a business owner and you don’t have one, I highly recommend putting one together especially, and I would say especially if you are someone who is perhaps going to go through a rebranding or maybe you are just launching your business for the first time.

I have been wanting to update my website for at least three years now, and I started the process about three years ago the last time and kept getting stuck writing content. Now, this is a common issue with I think any type of business owner, whatever your specialty is, you’re usually great at doing it for other people, but when it comes to doing it yourself, not so hot.

Why Entrepreneurs Struggle to Write Their Own Copy

So for instance, I, like many copywriters, excel at writing copy for other people—myself, it kind of comes and goes. Sometimes I’m good with it and sometimes I struggle. And because I didn’t really have good clarity three years ago, I gave up on the process, but now with the brand manual, I was able to—okay. And with some help from AI, full disclosure, AI is great for giving me ideas and then I can go ahead and make the words the way I want it to sound. But it’s great for kickstarting things. But I was able to get a bunch of copy done.

My Daughter the Digital Marketing Expert

And now my wonderful, wonderful daughter—plug for Ali Rand. I forget the name of her company now, but I will put that in the show notes as well because she is my—I know I sound like a mom bragging. Excuse me one second. But she is a phenomenal business owner. Not even just—she started off as web designer, but now she’s moving on and doing much more digital marketing services for clients. Because her clients would come to her and say, okay, well now that I got this website, now can you—I need help with email marketing or I need help with, you know, something else. And so now she’s this full service digital marketing company.

But because she’s my kid, she’s still kind to me and is working on my website. We’re having somebody else do it, whatever. But you know, I think she farms out that work now, but bless her heart, she’s gonna take care of that. And soon, very soon, hopefully—I’m going to put it out to the universe—by the end of January, I will have a new website because the one I have now, I’ve been changing some of the copy on it, but it really needs to be freshened up. It has—it’s old and it was one that she designed for me and she did a phenomenal job. But it’s not 2026, it’s—I don’t know, 2019 maybe, or 2015 even possibly the last time she did it. It’s old and it’s showing its age and it needs to be updated for the times.

Recording a Podcast from Chilly Florida (Yes, Really)

Excuse me again, sorry, it’s a bit chilly here in Florida where I live. And it was actually 40 degrees this morning, which I know is nothing compared to people who live up north. That’s certainly when I lived in Michigan and it was—it’s probably, I think, single digits up there. And snow. I don’t have snow.

I really shouldn’t complain. And yet I had to put the heat on this morning. Okay, don’t, you know, don’t judge me, all right? I’ve lived in Florida longer—but I’ve lived in Michigan now. And yes, as my wonderful late sister used to tease me about, she’s like, Glory, you’re a wuss. I’m like, yeah, I know I’m a wuss when it comes to the cold. I don’t like it. I never have.

And I was so glad that my grandmother moved to Florida when I was a kid, and we started going down there at Christmas time for vacation, to visit my—you know, to spend Christmas with my grandmother. I fell in love with Florida, and I fell in love with warm weather. And snow is lovely to look at, but I don’t like shoveling it and I don’t like cold, which is why, for those of you—you’re listening to this, but I not only have on a sweater, I have a sweater over my sweater. That’s how cold I was this morning. It’s silly, but this apartment building that I live in just is not great when it comes to that. So there you go. You know, what are you gonna do?

What Is Light Language? Energy Healing for Your Soul

All right, so what else do I want to talk about today? Because this episode is probably—you know what? I’ve just decided right now it’s not going to be a long episode because I didn’t really have a whole outline planned. I wanted to basically welcome you to the new show. And I’ve got a cat meowing at me. He wants my attention. He was sleeping. The minute I turn on the light, he comes in my office. They’re just like kids. Meow. No, I’m doing my podcast right now. Okay. Sorry for the interruption.

And I’m even going to leave that in. I know I could probably edit it out. But, hey, you know, this is what happens when you record podcasts from home. And you instead of—I don’t have little children. I have little cats who are cute and adorable.

Oh, he’s trying to jump up on my chair now. He wants my warm lap. That’s the problem. I know that’s what he wants. So I’m going to keep this short today. Okay? So we’re—I’m not going to get all involved. I am going to do one thing, and hopefully this will calm him down.

How Light Language Healing Works

Because one thing that I was doing on the Live Love Engage podcast when I was doing solo episodes and I’m still going to share these with you is I was—I like to—I’m going to take a drink of water. That’s what I’m going to do, because I keep having this frog in my throat. There we go. That’s better.

Okay, so one thing that I do on my solo episodes is I share light language. And if this is your first time tuning in and you’re like, what is that? I will give you the short definition of it and maybe I’ll also put a link in the show notes. I have—I wrote a page on my website that gives you some more information about it.

But essentially what it is, it is a multi-dimensional form of communication and it is something that comes through me and from other dimensions. I’m just going to say it like that. And it’s not something that your brain may understand, but it doesn’t matter because it’s really meant for your soul and your heart because that is what will understand it. Sorry, my cat’s being so pushy today.

So it’s a language of love essentially is what it is. And when I work with clients for doing this, what I will do is—and in fact you can even schedule a free 15 minute session with me. I just put up that banner there. So it’s a great way of being able to clear out what doesn’t serve you anymore.

Setting Your Intention for Light Language Healing

And so when, as I was starting to say, when I work with clients, I will ask them, you know, what’s going on in their life right now? Where do they need some support? And then what I will do is I will ask my guides, I ask angels, archangels, galactic beings, elementals, you know, all of these different multi-dimensional beings for a message of love and light that will be for their soul’s highest good and the highest good of all concern. And that’s what I’m going to do today as well.

And I will ask you right now to set an intention for yourself that you know, if there is something going on with you, that what you are going to hear will be something that will help you. That will be something that will be for your soul’s highest good and highest good of all concerned.

And I will also advise you before I officially get started here, is that if you are listening to this podcast while you’re driving a car, that I would like you to pause this and come back to it when you can be somewhere where you can sit down and just close your eyes and let the sounds come through. And because typically my clients will feel very relaxed afterwards. So I don’t want you to be driving a car and getting out of your head. You know, you need to be focused while you’re driving a car. So.

All right, I’m going to set that intention right now and I’m setting the intention also that my kitty cat will behave himself and then I’m going to finish up this podcast so that I can give him some undivided attention because he needs me today. All right, we might want to just take a breath and let it out. Relax.

[Light Language Transmission]

Well, I hope you received that with the love that it was intended. And yeah, as I say, you know, if you’d like to have a little longer taste of that with me, I do offer an introductory session that you can schedule. You can go to bit.ly/lightlanguage15 and yeah, see if that’s something that speaks to you.

And of course I also offer longer sessions because it is, you know, when you can, when we do like a half an hour, I can really get in and really we’ll spend a lot of time talking and then I can really spend—I sometimes will channel for a very long time. So it’s a wonderful thing. And you also, when you invest in a regular session, I will give you the recording as well so that you can listen to it more than once because that’s also a very helpful thing to do.

Coming Up Next Week: Midlife Transitions and New Possibilities

All right, so I think we’re going to wrap up this edition, but I would like to invite you to join us next week and I hope you will subscribe because next week I do have an interview. I have a guest on the show. Her name is Laing Rikkers and she—looking over here at my notes. I’m going to pull them over here so I don’t have to look away from the camera.

She is an award winning author, entrepreneur and executive coach with over 30 years of leadership experience. She has a book that’s called Morning Leaves: Reflections on Loss, Grief and Connection. And we talk a little bit about that book and she also has a new version of it that’s going to be coming out later this year and so she’s going to talk about why she’s doing that.

And I think you’ll find it very interesting especially because she, you know, we do get into this—the impact of midlife transitions and how they really can be invitations to step into new possibilities. So I hope you will join us for that next week and you can connect with me.

Thank You for Supporting This Podcast

And yeah, I would love to hear from you. I know I’ll have that in the audio outro as well. But yeah, I just want to say thank you. You know what? I want to say thank you to all the wonderful people who have supported this podcast over the years and written wonderful reviews on Apple. I was looking at a couple just recently—someone posted one in November and it was very nice and I intend to do a better job of actually giving folks a shout out about that. So make a mental note. I’m going to do that next time.

So, yeah, I guess that’s going to do it for me. So thank you so much. I haven’t come up with a new tagline, so, you know, on Live. Love. Engage., I would always encourage you to go out and live fully, love deeply and engage authentically. And I like that. And… it doesn’t feel right for this show.

So I think what I’m going to do is just say so long until we meet again and go out and make today great. Yeah, yeah, go make today great.

Spread the love
