There are days as a spiritual entrepreneur when you may feel like your business is running you instead of the other way around. Like you’re constantly chasing your tail, trying to keep up with all the demands of entrepreneurship. I’ve been there, and I know how overwhelming it can feel. But what if I told you there’s a secret to growing your business with more ease, grace, and joy? It’s a concept that allows you to tap into your inner wisdom that’s so simple, yet so powerful: letting go.
The Power of Surrender
The first aspect of letting go involves surrendering your attachment to outcomes. This doesn’t mean giving up on your goals or becoming passive. Instead, it’s about trusting in a higher power (whether you call it God, the Universe, or something else) and believing that everything will work out for your highest good.
Let me share a past example from my own life. I was planning a workshop in Orlando, Florida and had been working with someone to find the perfect venue. When I received the contract, my heart sank. The dates were wrong, the costs were way higher than expected, and it just wasn’t what I had envisioned.
Instead of spiraling into stress and worry, I decided to let go. I lifted it up to God and trusted that the right solution would present itself. And you know what? It did. The very next day, I found a venue that was not only more affordable but also better suited to my needs.
The Art of Delegation
The second aspect of letting go is about releasing your grip on every task in your business. As entrepreneurs, we often wear many hats: marketer, accountant, customer service rep, and more. But trying to do it all yourself is a recipe for burnout and stagnation.
Here’s the truth: you can’t grow your business all by yourself. At least, not beyond a certain point. To truly thrive, you need to let go and get help. This could mean:
- Hiring a virtual assistant to handle administrative tasks
- Investing in software tools to streamline your processes
- Working with a coach to gain new perspectives and strategies
- Joining a mastermind group for support and accountability
I remember the first time I hired a virtual assistant. It was challenging to let someone else handle tasks in my “baby.” But once I did, it freed up so much of my time and energy to focus on the big-picture aspects of my business.
The Magic of Stillness
When you let go of the need to control everything and delegate tasks, you create space for something magical: stillness. In our fast-paced world, we often underestimate the power of quiet reflection. But it’s in these moments of stillness that our best ideas often emerge.
As the saying goes, “Be still and know that I am God.” Whether you’re religious or not, there’s wisdom in this concept. When we quiet our minds and tune into our inner guidance, we tap into a wellspring of creativity and intuition.
Try this: Set aside 15 minutes each day for quiet reflection. No phone, no computer, just you and your thoughts. You might be surprised at the insights that bubble up when you give yourself this gift of stillness.
Embracing the Journey
Remember, letting go isn’t about abandoning your responsibilities or becoming passive in your business. It’s about trusting in the process, delegating where you can, and creating space for inspiration to flow.
As you practice letting go, you might find that your business starts to flow more easily. Opportunities may arise that you never expected. And most importantly, you might rediscover the joy that led you to start your business in the first place.
