3 Types of Titles to Use for Blog Posts

Want to learn how to come up with great titles for your blog posts? I’ve got three strategies for you today, but I’m going to give you a choice – you can either read about them in this post, or listen to them here from my Audioboo:

Do you write a blog for your business? If not, you should. I can tell you why in a clever acronym I learned from blogging expert Denise Wakeman. BLOG stands for Better Listings on Google. It’s true – a blog is a great tool to promote your business online.

Now one of the challenges in blogging, is coming up with ideas for a title for each post. I’ve got three types to share with you today to help stir your creative juices.

The first is the direct title. You come straight to the point with the topic of your post. A great example is this: 7 Creative Ideas for Blog Titles. Oh and did you notice, I used a number in that title? Studies have shown more people will read a title with a number in it.

The second type of post title is a News title. If you’ve got a new product for your business – say so in the post “announcing new software program that makes it easy to come up with blog titles”

And the third type of blog post title is the “How to…” Share with your reader how to do something. This type of post is great at grabbing the attention of your reader. Did you know that 8 out of ten people read a blog title – but only two read the entire post? That’s why your titles have to be compelling.
