How a Facebook Page Can Like another Facebook Page

A Facebook Page administrator recently asked me how she could “like” her customers’ Facebook pages. She didn’t want to personally like these pages, mind you. She wanted her Business page to “like” them. The only way to do this is to use Facebook AS a business page. In the following video, I walk you through just how to do that, and how to then, go about liking another page.

Video Transcript:

I’m Gloria Rand, internet marketing expert, and I’m here today to answer one of the questions that I’ve received recently which was, “How can a Facebook business page like another Facebook business page?” Let’s say you’re a small business owner and you want to be able to follow your customers’ business pages. There is definitely an easy way to do it. It’s not too complicated.

But the first thing you want to do is you want to be able to act as your business page on Facebook. So right now I’m acting as myself – Gloria Rand – the person. This is my personal timeline. But if I want to act as a business page, what I’m going to want to do is click on this little triangle up here, and where it says “use Facebook as” I’m going to select one of my pages. I’m an admin of a few other different companies so that’s why you see those other listings here. The Social Media Doc is an old page that I used to use, and it’s one that I can kind of use as a demo right now. So now since I’ve switched that, I’m acting as The Social Media Doc so now I can go out and like a page.

So the way to do that is I’m going to have to search… I’m going to have to search for a page. Let’s say, well you see, just by putting my name up here, I’ve got a bunch of different, similar pages are coming up so I can select one of these and take a look at it, but let’s say we’re going to look for something in a different industry. Let’s see what comes up.

We’ve got some people and then we’ve got some places, so let’s check out this company right here. Ok. So here is… and it says right here, it’s offering me the opportunity to like. When you like a page, you’ll start to see some of the updates in your news feed. So now I can go ahead and click like. Well, actually, you have to click here… OK Facebook! Of course there’s always a little bug with Facebook. It doesn’t show that I liked it, but I know that I have. I don’t know why it’s being that way. Let’s go to our news feed for a second and see if there… these are some of the other pages I’ve already liked. But let’s go here, we’ll just verify that I have liked it because ot should show up down here as one of the pages I’ve liked. Let’s see… Yep there it is – JB Landscape and Architectural Lighting. Ok. There was some kind of lag there. You can see I have liked it.

And now you can comment on a business page as your business page. This can be very handy if you want to be able to start to try to be able to engage other businesses. And that’s a great way to do it. So now you’re commenting as your page. Now if you want to turn back and become yourself again, your personal… all you have to do again is click on this little triangle, it says “use Facebook as,” it says “use Facebook as Gloria Rand,” and now we’re back and now I’m on my own personal timeline again. So that’s all there is to it. That’s how one business page can like another business page on Facebook. if you want more information about how to use social media for your business i hope you’ll visit my website, gloriarand.com. Take care.
