Why It’s Important to Test Before Launching a New Program

test new programToday’s blog post is about lessons.

#1 – Don’t be in a hurry to launch a new program.

#2 – Remember to test, re-test and test again before launching a new program.

Why is this important? If you don’t follow rules #1 and #2, your launch is likely to fail. At the very least, you could miss out on helping the people who need you the most!

How do I know this? I recently failed to follow rules #1 and #2! Argh!!!!

A few weeks ago, I started promoting a program called, Your True Success Path, a FREE 30-day visibility challenge to help entrepreneurs discover what true success means for them through a process that includes producing short, daily videos.

I set up a landing page that explains all about the program. When someone signs up, they’re taken to a “Thank You” page which contains a video from me inviting them to fill out a form if they’d like to take immediate action and schedule a breakthrough session with me.

Sounds great, right? I thought so. Only problem was, in my haste to get this program off the ground, I didn’t test the form as closely as I should have. Otherwise, I would have discovered that I wasn’t getting an email when someone filled out the form. This turned out to be an epic failure on my part because I had several people request the session, only to be ignored by me for several weeks because I didn’t get a notification.

Luckily, I discovered the error earlier this week and corrected the form. I also contacted the people who submitted the form and apologized to them. Luckily, they’re still willing to do the session with me.

So, please, please, please – take my advice and slow down. Think everything through before you launch a product or service to make sure you know how all the pieces are supposed to work. And then, test, re-test and test again before you launch. It will save you much embarrassment and lost sales.

By the way, Your True Success Path starts March 7th. You can get all the details about this challenge here: YourTrueSuccessPath.com
