3 Things You Need to Make Your Dreams Come True

Did you know there are only three things you need to make your dreams come true?

Seems impossible, right?

It’s true.

You only need these 3 things:

Your thoughts.

Your words.

Your actions.

I was reminded of this fact in an email I received the other day from TUT.com called “A Note from the Universe.”

If you’re not familiar with TUT – it’s a company that was started by noted author and speaker, Mike Dooley. You can subscribe to this service, and receive daily inspirational notes from the Universe. I’ve been a subscriber for a few years, and I can tell you that often these emails contain just the right message I need to hear that day.

What does the “Universe” mean by this?

I believe we were created in God’s image, and since God is the ultimate creator, that means we have the power to create too. It starts with the thoughts we think.

In fact, I found a card in my office last week when I was cleaning that says this very eloquently:

thoughts i think

Our thoughts drive our words which drive our actions. As the back of the card says, “it’s only a thought and a thought be changed.”

thoughts can be changed

So if we don’t like the results we’re getting, it starts by changing our thoughts!

Neuroplasticity and Changing our Thoughts

We have a powerful brain that is capable of great change. Scientists have shown that our brains are neuroplastic, which means it can reorganize itself throughout life by forming new neural connections based on your environment, behavior, thinking, and emotions.

I’m not saying changing your thoughts is easy to do. That’s because 98 percent of our thoughts are exactly the same as we had the day before. If you want to change your thoughts, your words, and your actions to make your dreams come true, you’re going to have to work at it.

That means consistently thinking new thoughts. Repeating affirmations can be helpful in this respect. You might want to start a journal and write down what you want every day, so you can start rewiring your neural connections.

Positive Thoughts Take More Effort

Here’s something else to consider. Our brains are also hardwired to focus on negative thoughts. It only takes a couple of seconds for this to happen. If you want to change your negative thoughts and focus on a positive thought, it’s going to require 15 seconds of mental focus – not just on the positive thing itself – but create a positive emotion around it. Emotion is the catalyst for hardwiring the positivity in our brain.

Here’s an example. Let’s say your dream is to have a 6-figure business. And you’ve been challenged to make it happen. Things aren’t going right. You’re not getting the clients you want. Instead of staying down that rabbit hole of “I’m not good enough,” or “I’m a failure,” Start focusing on what you DO want.

Start saying things like this to yourself, “I’m growing my business every day. I’m attracting ideal clients who easily pay me what I ask. I have fun serving my clients. I love my business!” Spend at least 15 seconds repeating these affirmations over and over again with enthusiasm.

And then… take action!! Write a post for social media. Record a Facebook live. Answer an email. Call a prospect. Clean your office or delete some emails! It’s a good practice to clear out the old to make way for the new.
