If you’ve been following my blog lately, you know that I’ve been writing about email newsletters, and why they are a useful marketing tool for small businesses.
So what do you do if you start publishing an email newsletter, but no one reads it?
First off, don’t give up!
There are ways to boost your email open rates. The infographic below from Inbound Marketing Agents has some excellent tips for you on how to do that. I would add one more, and that is to TEST! Whenever you send an email out to your list, run an A/B split test on the email subject line, as well as day of the week and time of day you plan to publish. Every business is unique, and every list is unique. Your customers may respond differently than someone else’s. The only way you’re going to know what works is to test.
If you use MailChimp, they make it easy to do A/B testing. Not only can you test subject lines, but you can even test the content of your email and the design. Pretty cool, huh? That’s why I use them for my email marketing! Read MailChimp’s blog article for help with A/B testing.
