What does growing a giant pumpkin have to do with growing your business? Actually, quite a lot. At least if you buy the premise behind the new book, The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz, better known as the Toilet Paper Entrepreneur.
I spent part of my summer vacation reading this book, and I can tell you it was worthwhile. Mike’s assessment plan is a great tool to help entrepreneurs take a hard look at their business to find the weeds (clients) that are not productive and eliminate them. It’s not easy to say “no” but it is necessary if a business owner wants an extraordinary business and still have time to spend with friends and family. If you don’t have a balanced life, you won’t truly be a success.
