7 Useful Facebook Apps for Business

If you use Facebook for your business, the April edition of Website Magazine featured some great Facebook Apps for you to try. If you haven’t seen the list, here’s a summary:

Contests: In a matter of minutes, businesses can create and launch branded contests in Facebook Fan Pages. Several formats are available  including: photo contests, video contests, design contests, logo contests, essay-based contests and more. Contests are a great way to build brand awareness, build content on Fan pages and recruit new fans.

SocialToo: This app enables users to update their personal profile pages, any Facebook Fan page they administer and even remotely to Twitter from the convenience of the status update box.

SocialOomph: Facebook users can boost their productivity with this app by scheduling future dates and times to publish their status updates. This feature is included in SocialOomph’s Professional subscription. You can schedule to Twitter for free.

NetworkedBlogs: This community of bloggers allows you to promote your blog on Facebook and discover new blogs. You can connect with others who read and write about subjects you like, and promote your own blog to active social media users.

RatePoint: This app lets users create e-mail newsletters, collect reviews and testimonials and build surveys for free. Connects to Facebook & Twitter easily and allows for share reviews and newsletters with Facebook Friends and Fans, & Twitter followers. **Update: As of Feb. 2, 2012, this service shut down after selling part of its business to Constant Contact.

Jobmagic: This social media recruiting application expands a recruiter’s reach by leveraging Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter channels to help start a dialog with candidates which other recruiters cannot.

Social Store Builder: Enables a Volusion store owner to display and sell products directly on their Facebook page. Once a customer clicks on a featured product, he is taken to the store owner’s secure, one-page checkout to complete the transaction.

Have you tried any of these apps? If so, which ones do you recommend and why? If you know of any other useful apps, please let me know and I’ll include the info in a future blog article.
