These days, everyone is on social media – and I don’t just mean other companies. Pretty much every John and Jane Doe of the world has at least one social media site they check regularly. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are currently the frontrunners, but that doesn’t mean they are the only sites you should be targeting to get a larger following. There are also the less-trafficked sites that are growing in popularity, and often have niche customers that you wouldn’t necessarily find otherwise. And the way to go in today’s marketing world, is to content market – in order words, educate your customers on what you’re all about, not harass them to buy your hot deals.
Social Media Makes Content Marketing Easy
From sites like Pinterest, Youtube or Vimeo, you can create a visual narrative of your company or brand. This is a great way to go viral, fast, and find audiences you didn’t even know you had. There are also more intellectual sites like Google Plus, LinkedIn, and WordPress, where you can pass along and share ideas or articles that interest you; these sites are a great way to do business to business transactions and get other businesses on board with your brand.
As great as your new product may be, the competition is fierce. You need to find a way to stand out. This isn’t the easiest to do, but it involves finding and creating a strong business plan before you start publishing. It involves knowing yourself, your brand, and your company. It involves respecting your followers and in turn, having faith that if they like your brand, they will become your own personal, self-selected megaphones, spreading word about you before you even know it.
